Crystalwood Lodge is located in the Southern part of Oregon near the California border. The Lodge is locatedalong the Volcanic Legacy National Scenic Byway, and is easily accessible from Crater Lake, Bend, Medford/Ashland as well as Klamath Falls. GPS Latitude/Longitude Coordinates are as follows:

N 42° 34.589 minutes; W 122° 04.956 minutes

By auto from the North:

Take I-5 South from Portland to Hwy. 58 East (this is after Eugene); follow to Hwy. 97 South; go south to the Chiloquin/ Fort Klamath exit (the first exit just a few miles south of Collier State Park and Logging Museum). Head west toward Fort Klamath approx. 3 miles to the stop sign intersection which is Highway 62. At the intersection with Hwy 62 go right toward Fort Klamath/Crater Lake. After about 5-6 miles, almost to Ft.Klamath you will see a sign saying to Rocky Point and Lake of the Woods ; this is Loosley Road, which T’s in on the left. Turn left onto Loosley Road, follow to the Tat Weed Road, go right a few hundred yards; on your left is Sevenmile Road again with signs to Lake of the Woods and Rocky Point. Turn left, follow Sevenmile Road as it proceeds through the Wood River Valley ranchland. Sevenmile Road turns into Westside Road after 3-4 miles when it reaches the mountains – the same pavement turns into Westside Road with a sharp bend to the left (NOTE: STAY ON THE PAVED ROAD).Continue following the pavement which is now Westside Road and heads south along the base of the mountains. The mile posts on your right are now reset to zero and start counting up. Crystalwood Lodge is beyond MP6, almost to MP7, on your left. The driveway is marked by a Crystalwood Lodge sign, below which is a red and white OPEN sign and a red newspaper delivery holder. If you get to the Crystal Springs Rest Area which is at MP7, you’ve gone too far. The Lodge driveway is immediately before the rest area, which is adjacent to our property. Turn Left into the driveway, and proceed to the lodge, which is visible from the road.

By auto from the South:

From I-5 North, take Highway 97 North at the Central Weed exit. Continue on Highway 97 North until just south of Klamath Falls. Exit 140 West toward Medford. Go left on 140 (under the Hwy 97 overpass), and follow 140 as it turns immediately to the right at a large sign which indicates Hwy 140 Medford, Fish Lake and Lake-of-the-Woods. Proceed past the Running Y resort, around the southern tip of the lake, over and down Doak Mountain, and into the Winema National Forest. Your next landmark will be the Odessa Market on your left, with a red and yellow sign, which is approx. 24 miles from the intersection of Hwy 97. Continue on past the Odessa Market , approx. 1 mile past the Rocky Point Road turnoff, and immediately thereafter, Hwy 140 will make a very long sweeping left hand turn, nearly making a U. As you emerge from the left hand turn, just past mile post #44, you will see a rather large road coming in from the right with a right hand turn lane. Turn right at this intersection onto Westside Road (small road name sign atop a stop sign on the far right of the intersection) – please note this is also where the Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway turns right, and there is a green sign indicating this is the way to Fort Klamath. (Note:Should you miss the turn 140 goes straight for a couple of miles and then heads up a long hill to Lake of the Woods, turn around – you’ve gone too far). Mile post markers are on the left-hand side of Westside Road, and are counting down from 16…continue on until Mile Post 7. On the right-hand side at Mile Post 7 is the Crystal Springs Rest Area. IMMEDIATELY past that on the right is the Crystalwood Lodge driveway. There is a Lodge sign at the roadside, underneath which is a red and white OPEN sign, as well as a red newspaper delivery holder. Turn right, and follow the driveway all the way to the Lodge, which is on a bluff on the far side of the meadow, and visible from the road.

By auto from Medford:

From the airport, take the first left onto Biddle Road; follow signs for Hwy 62N/Crater Lake until you reach Hwy. 140, Klamath Falls/Lake of the Woods exit (approx. 6 miles); turn right on 140 toward Klamath Falls. Stay on Hwy. 140 for about 35 miles, past Fish Lake and Lake of the Woods, until you see Dead Indian Memorial Road on the right (DO NOT EXIT, THIS A MARKER). Continue on 140 as it descends and six miles from Dead Indian Memorial Road there is a left hand turn lane at the intersection with Westside Road. This intersection is signed with a sign indicating a left hand turn to go to Crater Lake National Park, and there are also a small green sign indicating to turn for Ft. Klamath and the Westside Road sign is atop a stop sign on the left. Turn left at this intersection onto Westside Road . (Note: if you miss this intersection, the next landmark you will see will be the Odessa Market on your right – turn around, you’ve gone too far). Look for the Mile Posts on your left, which are counting down from 16. Continue on this road until MP7, on your right is the Crystal Springs Rest Area. IMMEDIATELY past the rest area is the Lodge sign on the right, below which is a red and while OPEN sign and a small red newspaper delivery holder, at the start of a long, winding driveway. The lodge is visible from the road. Turn right at the Lodge sign into the driveway and proceed to the Lodge.

By auto from the Klamath Falls airport:

Turn left out of the airport, then right onto Washburn Way, following the signs toward City Center. Exit left onto 140 West toward Medford. Go under the overpass at Highway 97 and follow the directions above for driving from the South.

By Auto from Crater Lake:

Exit the South Park Entrance on Hwy 62 East toward Ft. Klamath/Klamath Falls. In Ft. Klamath, just past the General Store on your right, the highway will turn left – at that intersection, go straight (onto Weed Road). Continue south on Weed Road approx. 1 mile until the first intersection which is a road T-ing in from the right at the sign for Lake of the Woods; turn Right onto Sevenmile Road. Follow Sevenmile Road as it proceeds west through the Wood River Valley ranchland towards the mountains, and the same pavement turns into Westside Road with a sharp bend to the left when it reaches the hillside (NOTE: STAY ON THE PAVED ROAD). The mile posts on your right are now reset to zero and start counting up. Crystalwood Lodge is beyond MP6, almost to MP7, on your left. The driveway is marked by a Crystalwood Lodge sign below which is a red and white OPEN sign and a red newspaper delivery holder. If you get to the Crystal Springs Rest Area at MP7, you’ve gone a couple of hundred yards too far. The Lodge driveway is immediately before the rest area, which is adjacent to our property. Turn Left into the driveway, and proceed to the lodge, which is visible from the road. Crystalwood Lodge is located approx. 18 miles from the South Entrance to Crater Lake National Park, which is 14 miles from the Rim Village.

By Auto from Lakeview:

Head West on Highway 140 from Lakeview toward Klamath Falls/Medford. Continue on 140 West past the Highway 97 intersection just south of Klamath Falls; pass under Highway 97 and note that Highway 140 immediately turns right at the large sign which says Lake of the Woods, Fish Lake, Medford. Turn Right and continue to follow Highway 140 West. Proceed past the Running Y resort, around the southern tip of the lake, over and down Doak Mountain, and into the Winema National Forest. Your next landmark will be the Odessa Market on your left, with a red and yellow sign, which is approx. 24 miles from the intersection of Hwy 97. Continue on past the Odessa Market , past the Rocky Point Road turnoff, and immediately thereafter, Hwy 140 will make a very long sweeping left hand turn, nearly making a U. As you emerge from the left hand turn, just past mile post #44, you will see a rather large road coming in from the right with a right hand turn lane. There will also be a blue highway information sign saying Lodging and with the Crystalwood Lodge logo in white on a brown background. Turn right at this intersection onto Westside Road (small road name sign atop a stop sign on the far right of the intersection) – please note this is also where the Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway turns right, and there is a green sign indicating this is the way to Fort Klamath. Should you miss the turn and head up a long hill to Lake of the Woods, turn around – you’ve gone too far. Mile post markers are on the left-hand side of Westside road…continue on until Mile Post 7. On the right-hand side at Mile Post 7 is the Crystal Springs Rest Area. IMMEDIATELY past that on the right is the Crystalwood Lodge driveway. There is a Lodge sign at the roadside, underneath which is a red and white OPEN sign, as well as a red newspaper delivery holder. Turn right, and follow the driveway all the way to the Lodge, which is on a bluff on the far side of the meadow, and visible from the road.

AIRLINE INFORMATION:

Air travel to Medford is available via Horizon (Alaska Airlines), and Skywest (United Airlines), with connections to Medford from Portland, SanFrancisco, and Denver. It is approx. 75 minutes to lodge by auto. Car rental at airport by Hertz, Avis, Budget, and National. Air travel to Klamath Falls is provided via Horizon (Alaska Airlines) from Portland. It is approx. 45 minutes to lodge by auto. Car rental at airport by Budget, Hertz and Enterprise.

TRAIN INFORMATION:

If you have the time, Amtrak is a great way to come to Crystalwood. 1-800-872-7245. There are excellent connections from both the Bay area & Portland.

BY SMALL PLANE:

Private aircraft can land at Chiloquin paved 3800′ runway, 20 minutes from the lodge. Shuttle service available, but car rental is suggested in Klamath Falls.
